Bharti Singh (born 3 July 1984) is an Indian stage comedian,actress,television host from Amritsar, Punjab, India. She has done numerous comedy shows and has hosted many award shows as well. She participated in the reality shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (2012), Nach Baliye 8 (2017) and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 (2019). As of December 2019, she appeared on Khatra Khatra Khatra, a show conceptualised by her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa for Colors TV.
Early life
Singh's father is of Nepali descent, while her mother is a Punjabi Hindu.[better source needed] Bharti's father died when she was two years old. Bharti has two siblings.
Television career
Bharti was the second runner-up of stand-up comedy reality series The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (Season 4) on STAR One, where she received acclaim for her stand-up comedy child character named Lalli. She appeared as a participant along with Sharad Kelkar and Paresh Ganatra in Comedy Circus 3 Ka Tadka and Comedy Circus Mahasangram with her team from Comedy Circus 3 Ka Tadka, Comedy Circus Ke Superstars with Paresh Ganatra, Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo. And in 2011, she appeared in Jubilee Comedy Circus, Comedy Circus Ke Taansen and Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur on Sony Entertainment Television. She hosted the show Comedy Nights Bachao along with Krishna Abhishek.
Also in 2011, she acted in the TV series Pyaar Mein Twist on STAR Plus and later appeared as a contestant on the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 (2012). In 2012, she hosted the television show Sau Saal Cinema Ke, which premiered on 15 December 2012 on Star Plus with actors including Karan Tacker, Ragini Khanna and Shruti Ulfat. She also appeared as a guest star on MasterChef India Season 3. She also appeared as a guest star on Nach Baliye 6.
She has also hosted India's Got Talent 5 (2014), India's Got Talent 6 (2015) and India's Got Talent 7 (2016). In 2017, she received the 6th position in the reality show Nach Baliye 8 on Star Plus along with Harsh. In 2018, she appeared as a guest in the reality shows Dance Deewane (Season 1) and Bigg Boss (Season 12) (both on Colors TV). In the same year, she hosted India's Got Talent 8 on Colors TV and again appeared in the comedy drama The Kapil Sharma Show (Season 2) on Sony TV as Titli Yadav. In 2019, she participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 on Colors TV with Harsh again. Although Harsh got eliminated in the seventh week, she managed to become a finalist and survived until the grand finale. She got evicted just before the grand finale.
In January 2020, Bharti became a part of Sony's India's Best Dancer as the host along with her husband Harsh Limbachiya.
Personal life
On 3 December 2017, Bharti married writer Haarsh Limbachiyaa. Singh has also been nationally ranked in archery and pistol shooting. On 21 November 2020, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a search at Bharti's residence and recovered 86.5 gms of cannabis. She was later arrested by the NCB.
