Prajakta Koli is an Indian YouTube personality who makes comedy videos. She is popularly known by her YouTube name "MostlySane". Her videos are mostly comical takes on her observation of everyday life situations.
She worked at Fever 104 FM radio station in Mumbai as an intern for about a year. She launched her YouTube channel on 12 February 2015.
Koli has collaborated with mainstream Bollywood actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ayushmann Khurana, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vicky Kaushal, Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and more along with digital stars like Lilly Singh, Collins Key, Bhuvan Bam, Ashish Chanchalani, Be YouNick among others.
Koli has performed at YouTube FanFest in Delhi in 2018 and in Mumbai in 2016 & 2019. In May 2018, she was announced as the Indian Ambassador for YouTube's global initiative, 'Creators For Change', which deals with problems like hate speech, xenophobia and extremism. She made a music video named "No Offence" for her YouTube Creators For Change Project, which was shown in the United Nations as part of their International Day of Tolerance where she represented India. In December 2018, Koli recorded a national TV commercial for WhatsApp which deals with the prevention of propaganda and spreading fake news through the messaging app. In February 2019 she was part of Forbes' list of 30 under 30 and in Outlook Business Magazine's list of Women of Worth and Entrepreneur India's list of 35 under 35 along with winning Cosmopolitan magazine's YouTuber of the Year award.
In April 2019, Susan Wojcicki sat down with Prajakta for an interview which was the first creator led interview Susan Wojcicki did globally. Later that year she interviewed comedian Russell Peters to promote his world tour, Deported and followed it up with Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake. Koli was also invited by Disney to travel to Singapore for the premier of Captain Marvel, where she interviewed Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson
Koli was invited on Kareena Kapoor Khan's show What Women Want wherein she spoke about her journey on the digital space. She has been a part of the YouTube original series Off The Page with Lage Raho Munna Bhai alongside Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and other cast members. In January 2020 Koli was included in Grazia Magazine's annual Cool list.
In 2020 Koli announced the launch of her YouTube original show 'Pretty Fit' making her the first ever Indian YouTuber with her own YouTube originals series. The trailer was launched on 18th January and the first episode was released on 21st January, the series also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Neha Kakkar, Sanya Malhotra, RJ Malishka, Mithila Palkar and Sumukhi Suresh.
Koli will also be a part of the YouTube Originals Creators For Change, a docu-Series about Girls Education with Michelle Obama, she will feature alongside Liza Koshy and Thembe Mahlaba.
On World Mental Health Day in 2016, Koli launched her campaign #iPledgeToBeMe which addresses mental health well being and body shaming. She invited to share with her their experiences around body shaming. She wrote a rap song ‘Shameless’, which was released in May 2017. The video features Raftaar, Raghav Juyal, RJ Mallishka, Gaurav Gera, Mithila Palkar, Sahil Khattar among others.
She has been part of campaigns such as #GirlsCount for One.Org where she spoke about the importance of girl’s education. She also participated in YouTube’s Safer Internet Week where she addressed cyber-bullying. In November 2018 she collaborated with YouTube Impact Labs to promote education for girls. She was also one of the four YouTube creators from India invited by the Obama Foundation to attend the town hall meeting by President Obama. In September 2019 Koli traveled to New York as a delegate for Goalkeepers an initiative by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
In 2019, Prajakta, associated with Anshula Kapoor’s crowdfunding platform, Fankind to raise money for The Banyan Foundation a charity based out of Chennai which deals with mental health issues.
